For the next six months, every Monday, Eden Connor, Kathleen Grieve, and I (Baseball Babes) will be blogging about everything we love when it comes to Baseball. We might post excerpts from some of our books that might be baseball themed or share the sexy side of baseball with pictures. And be prepared for some trash talk, because all three of us cheer for three different teams. I might need help from some of you readers out there because the other two Baseball Babes like to gang up on me. Whatever we do our goal is to entertain you, and if you’re not a baseball fan, we hope to make one out of you. LOL.
Today is a BIG day for baseball fans all over. Why? It’s Opening Day, baby! It doesn’t feel like spring until after the first pitch is thrown. All winter the experts have been making predictions based on what’s on paper—like uh-um, Eden, who thinks her Braves have the best outfield with the addition of the Upton brothers this off season, but one really just never knows what’s going to happen until the season starts. Names on paper look good and all, but it’s what happens on the field that matters.
I will be smiling all day. Of course, my husband thinks I’m like that because I can’t wait to watch Derek Jeter, my absolute favorite Yankee, but that’s not the whole truth. I really just love everything about baseball and am excited for the next 162 games.
I obviously can’t speak from a player’s standpoint on the feeling one gets, so I will let this hall of famer do it for me.
"An Opener is not like any other game. There's that little extra excitement, a faster beating of the heart...You know that when you win the first one, you can't lose 'em all."
